Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Lead – CFD for our Dubai, United Arab Emirates office. This role is ideal for an experienced CFD professional from the aerospace industry, with strong expertise in gas turbine combustion, reacting flow and turbomachinery simulations.
This role involves providing pre-sales, technical support & training to clients across aerospace, energy, automotive, and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Ansys Fluent, CFX, and the Ansys Turbomachinery Suite, combined with a solid foundation in gas turbine combustion analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support technical engagements throughout the sales cycle, including customer meetings, product demonstrations, evaluations, and solution positioning
- Deliver high-quality technical support and training to customers across the Middle East region
- Act as a subject matter expert in gas turbine CFD and combustion modelling, supporting customer projects and use cases
- Conduct and guide simulations involving:
- Reacting flows and combustion systems
- Gas turbine combustors (cold flow, reacting flow, emissions)
- Heat transfer, turbulence, and multiphase effects (where applicable)
- Internal flows in rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines)
- Develop, validate, and optimize combustion and reacting flow models, including chemical kinetics and emissions (NOx, soot)
- Work closely with customer engineering teams to integrate CFD into their product development workflows
Requirements:
- 8–10 years of experience in CFD, preferably within the aerospace or gas turbine industry
- Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical /Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
- Strong hands-on expertise in using Ansys Fluent and/or Ansys CFX
- Experience using SpaceClaim, Workbench, BladeGen, TurboGrid, Vista-CPD/Vista-TF or similar turbomachinery-specific tools
- Proven experience in:
- Gas turbine combustor simulations
- Combustion and reacting flow modelling
- Turbulence-chemistry interaction models
- Emissions prediction (NOx, soot, etc.)
- Solid foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and numerical methods
- Experience working in customer-facing or consulting roles is highly preferred
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for customers
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience in delivering trainings and technical sessions
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel (up to ~20%) within the region
