Third Fluid Codes Aerospace & Defense Conference

On May 9th, 2024, delegates gathered at WB Abu Dhabi for the third Fluid Codes Aerospace & Defense Conference. The event featured presentations and panel discussions on the latest trends, technological advancements, and strategic imperatives in the aerospace and defense sector.

Abbass Karim, General Manager of Fluid Codes, opened the conference, followed by Steve Bleymaier, CTO for A&D at Ansys, who shared valuable insights. Roberto Gemma discussed the role of Digital Mission Engineering, while Alberto Ruffino highlighted workflows for developing electro-optic infrared systems.

A panel discussion on the Middle East Aerospace and Defense Industry featured Gen. John Nicholson of Lockheed Martin, Carlo Igniades of L3Harris, Prof. Steven Griffiths, and Steve Bleymaier, moderated by Sharief Fahmy. Abdul Baba from Technology Innovation Institute – DERC spotlighted Ansys’s contributions to directed energy systems, and Pavel Bruk concluded with a talk on aerospace and defense systems design. The day ended with networking over lunch.
